Legaltech Summit GCC

The Legal Innovation Journey

The LegalTech Summit will bring together leaders from a wide range of law firms and in-house teams to discuss the latest insight and use cases within this area of disruptive technology. We will review best practices from the leading authorities on legal technology and have a number of exciting panels on the progress of technology within the legal industry.

The summit will host a varied program of panel discussions and presentations focussed on technology that can empower the legal profession. The four themes for this summit will be:

Women In Leadership Seminar

The Women in Leadership (LAW) Seminar Series is a program that provides a chance for women and men at all levels to understand some of the key issues and challenges in gender inclusion.  Christina Blacklaws, the former president of the Law Society of England & Wales, is the seminar leader and will talk about her experiences and the framework she helped implement at the Law Society, during her presidency. 
There will also be a chance for the audience to interact with each other and Christina to understand her journey as an inspirational and successful leadership role model and thought leader. On diversity and inclusion, Christina has developed and leads on a programme focussed on women in leadership in law. The project produced the largest ever global survey on the issue, two toolkits which supported over 250 roundtables in 22 jurisdictions and led to 3 insight reports and a Women in Law Pledge which was supported by the government and all legal representative bodies. This was launched at the international symposium Christina arranged in June 2019.

The session will cover:

I. Introduction
- ​The benefits of gender inclusion. The compelling business case of increased profits, efficiency etc. 
- Statistics / Women’s history: 100 years in Law / 100 years since the right to vote etc.​
II. The Unconscious Bias
- The Unconscious Bias - Identified as the most significant barrier preventing many women from reaching senior positions.
- Guidance and tools on what you can do to minimise the impact of unconscious bias
